January. Thursday 5th: “Wexford’s North Slob: Origin and Changes” by Dominic Berridge, Warden, Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.
Saturday 14th: Field trip to Cahore Marsh to see birds and other wildlife with Janet Whelehan. Meet at 11am in the car park in Cahore (T217480). Bring a packed lunch.
February. Thursday 2nd: AGM at 7pm followed at 8pm by “The Art of Bird Identification – a forty-year perspective on birding and field guides” by Killian Mullarney, Ornithologist and Bird Artist.
Saturday 4th: (note change of date) Bird watching in Carne with Killian Mullarney. Meet at 10am at Carne Pier (T129063).
March. Thursday 2nd: “Hares in Ireland” by Dr.Rebecca Jeffrey, Science and Biodiversity Section, NPWS.
Saturday 11th: Enniscorthy River Walk with Simon Collins. Meet at 10am at the Riverside Park Hotel,Enniscorthy (S972393).
April. Thursday 6th: “Monitoring & Conservation of Raised Bogs in South & Eastern Ireland” by Lorcán Scott, Peatlands District Conservation Officer, NPWS.
Saturday 8th: Workshop on creating wild pollinator nesting habitat with Dr. Erin Jo Tiedeken, Pollinator Plan Officer, National Biodiversity Data Centre. 10am-1pm at Jamestown Nature Reserve, Oylegate (S986315).
May. Tuesday 2nd: 7pm at Wexford Town Library, Mallin St. (T047219) (note change of day, time and venue) Wexford Library’s Chris Wilson Memorial Lecture (in association with WNFC) “The Wolf in Ireland, mythology, ecology, society” by Dr. Kieran Hickey, University College Cork.
Saturday 13th: Field trip to Drummin Bog with Lorcán Scott. Meet at 1.30pm at the cafe at St. Mullin’s Quay, Co. Carlow (S727378).
Sunday 14th: Dawn Chorus event with Dave Daly at the Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig. Meet at 4.30am in the car park (T010228).
June. Thursday 1st: “The Recording of Ladybirds and Shieldbugs in County Wexford” by Nicholas Egan and Mary Foley, WNFC members.
Saturday 17th: (note change of date) 10am-4pm, BioBlitz at Ballymore, Camolin (T090503).
July. Thursday 6th: “Coypu, Chipmunk, Egyptian goose – what next?” by Colette O’Flynn, Invasive Species Officer, National Biodiversity Data Centre.
Saturday 8th: Field trip to watch terns at Lady’s Island Lake with Dave Daly. Meet at 2pm at Our Lady’s Island Community Centre (T105077).
August. Thursday 3rd: “Conservation Grazing with Native Irish Cattle in the Uplands of County Kerry” by Kilian Kelly, Institute of Technology Tralee.
Saturday 12th: Field trip to Rostoonstown to see landforms (Ireland’s Great Barrier Coast), wild flowers including the very rare Cottonweed, wildlife, seabirds and more with Jim Hurley. Meet at 2pm on the barrier at the end of the road to Rostoonstown (T081053).
September. Thursday 7th: “The Merlin of Connemara” by Dermot Breen, Conservation Ranger NPWS.
Saturday 9th: Workshop on collecting and using pollinator friendly wildflower seed with Dr. Úna Fitzpatrick, Ecologist, National Biodiversity Data Centre. 10am-1pm at Jamestown Nature Reserve, Oylegate (S986315).
October. Thursday 5th: “Cutting the Lake at Lady’s Island” by Jim Hurley, WNFC member.
