I-WEBS Survey at the Wexford Wildfowl ReserveAlyn Walsh, Wexford Wildfowl Reserve outlined the requirements of the I-WEBS survey to the group and estimates of the following species were quantified: Planting a Wildlife GardenThe March field trip was held at the Wexford Organic Centre, Cushinstown. The focus of the event was planting a wildlife garden. In the morning, Dominic Berridge led a workshop on planting a wildlife garden using native species while Eva Kelly led a similar discussion utilising cultivated and native species. In the afternoon, Dominic Berridge presented examples of owl and bird boxes. The group then laid two raised ponds, planted a hedge, extended a hedgerow, installed Report: Butterfly Walk at the Raven Nature ReserveChris Wilson led the April field trip around the Raven Nature Reserve. The Club followed the Raven Wood Butterfly Transect set up in 2007 under the Irish Butterfly Monitoring Scheme. This walk is completed once a week on a suitable day between the 1st April and 30th September. Chris Wilson provided a short introduction |
