Since then it has been found at a number of sites in the county and has been recorded as far north as Oylegate and as far west as Taylorstown, Ballycullane. It is a small orange butterfly which can be found in dry grassland. The adults fly rapidly in sunshine but can also be found perching on grass or patches of flowers. Its flight period is from the end of June to mid August but is most common during July.
